That matters more here than it might look. Connecting a filter to the drinking water supply is plumbing work — a whole-house unit is cut into the incoming main, and even a small under-sink system is a permanent connection to the mains. In Western Australia that is licensed work, and it should be done by someone entitled to do it.
The other half of it is that the person who quotes the job is the person who fits it. There is no sales visit followed by a different van turning up later.
What we do on this site
Water filtration systems, and only that. Whole-house units at the meter, under-sink systems, reverse osmosis, dedicated filtered taps at the kitchen sink, and servicing and cartridge changes on systems that are already in.
HouseWorks Plumbing & Gas does other plumbing and gas work. This site does not advertise it, because a site that claims to specialise in everything specialises in nothing. If you ring about something else you will be looked after, but what we are here for is water. The systems we install
How we quote
A licensed plumber comes out at no charge, looks at the actual house, and leaves you with a written price before anything is touched.
We do not put prices on this website, and that is deliberate rather than coy. The figure for a filter install depends on where the main enters the property, what the pipework there is made of, whether the kitchen cupboard will take a unit, whether the benchtop is laminate or stone, and what state the existing cold feed is in. Every one of those is different at every house. A number on a web page would be a guess, and you would find out it was a guess at the worst possible moment.
Transparent pricing and no hidden costs is the promise. It only means something if the price is written down before the work rather than after it.

Water Corporation adds chlorine to all of its water supply schemes as a disinfectant, and the treated supply reaching Kardinya is monitored. Filtration is about taste, odour, sediment and chlorine — it is a preference, and a good one, but it is not a rescue. Anyone telling you your tap water is dangerous is working towards a sale.
We will not sell you the bigger system when the smaller one fixes it
If what bothers you is the taste of a glass of water, an under-sink unit does that and you do not need to spend on whole-house. We would rather do the smaller job and be the people you ring next time.
We will not quote around a problem
If the cupboard genuinely will not take the unit you want, or the benchtop drilling is going to be a careful job, you hear it at the free visit.
